The Trajectory Office has ordered the evacuation of Havenmere. A Visitant called the Slow Choir will pass through in nineteen days. Four million people must leave.

The Slow Choir was not on any chart until last week. The Office has not said why.

Here at Lodestar Station, the Office has begun its first full review of the charting instruments in three hundred years. It calls the review “a precaution.”

On Havenmere, residents describe a sound at night, like many voices holding one note. The Office advises them not to listen. Some have begun humming it back.

Ships of the Ilthari, a people who sense Visitants before any instrument can, have arrived at Havenmere unannounced. They brought one message: “Leave nothing behind that remembers you.”

Havenmere has nineteen days.
