# The Whitepath Reopens

The Brasswright League, the merchant guild that controls most trade between the inner worlds, has reopened the Whitepath. The trade route had been closed for forty years. The League has never said why it closed, and has not said why it is open now.

The first convoy completed the crossing yesterday. It took six days. Before the closure, the same crossing took eleven.

The League credits “improved navigation.” Its pilots say they flew the old route exactly and changed nothing.

One convoy captain reported that the stars along the route looked slightly wrong. She could not say how. She has since withdrawn the statement.

The Trajectory Office confirms that no Visitant has been charted near the Whitepath. It adds that it is checking.

Cargo insurers have kept their Whitepath rates almost unchanged. They have added one new clause: coverage ends if a ship arrives before it departs.

Havenmere has seventeen days.
